Calamigos Ranch Wedding

Lauren and Dustin’s Calamigos Ranch wedding was full of timeless romance and a deep-rooted love for their families! After meeting with Lauren and Dustin, I was so excited by their non-traditional brunch wedding vision and how we could bring that to life. I knew the natural beauty of Calamigos Ranch would be the perfect place for them to say their I do’s and join their two families as one. 

The Story

The couple’s whimsical and timeless style was always at the forefront of their planning. They wanted to make sure they created the right ambiance to encourage their guests to enjoy the party. We focused on making sure nothing was overly decorated and that the venue created a guest experience to remember.

The Setting

The Birchwood Room is like a hidden oasis at this beautiful Malibu venue. The ceremony space features a limestone waterfall set as the backdrop of a beautiful grass meadow. It was a cozy, relaxed August morning when the bride walked down the aisle. Delicate pastel blooms in her hands and a smile lighting up the entire ceremony space.

After the intimate wedding ceremony, their 80 guests were invited up to the patio deck where twinkle lights hung from the canopy of oak trees. The bride and groom chose to accent their sweetheart table settings with a ground display of bright, textured flowers and bud vases. Together with their guests, they enjoyed a delicious brunch buffet decked with pastries, quesadillas, and croissant French toast.

The Style

Dustin and Lauren shared their desire to host a unique and non-traditional celebration. Creating a welcoming and connected atmosphere for their guests was top of mind throughout planning. We leaned into colorful hues that would feel elegant and effortless against the backdrop of the forest garden at the Birchwood Room. 

The Experience

The couple’s love of their friends and family was central to their overall experience. They wanted to ensure their guests enjoyed a day that celebrated love and was a reflection of Dustin and Lauren’s story. 

After brunch, Dustin serenaded Lauren with a sweet performance, and the guests enjoyed tunes on the dancefloor. To cap off the brunch gathering, the couple invited their guests to follow them down the pathway to a dessert soiree. Complete with a full dessert display of their favorite cookies and cupcakes, and a working carousel!

Providing wedding planning for Lauren and Dustin allowed the couple to stay present on their wedding day. It was breathtaking to bring this love story to life.
